Introducing a new pet into the home

Best practices

At Better Beginnings Kitten Rescue, we want to ensure a smooth transition from foster home to forever home. The 3-3-3 Rule is used worldwide as a guide line for introducing a new pet to the home. While some pets may adjust right away to their new surrounding, others may take time. It is important to understand that giving your new pet a safe space to hide and adjust will ensure a quicker acceptance to their new surroundings.

Why adopt from BBKR?

Free vs Rescued

There is a lot to consider when adopting a cat or kitten, and it mostly comes down to cost. Why would someone pay for a kitten when they can get it for free? Believe it or not, that "free" kitten can cost up to triple the adoption fee of a kitten from a legitimate rescue.

Most free kittens won't have had any kind of wellness check or veterinarian care and can be at risk for a number of medical issues.

When you adopt from Better Beginnings Kitten Rescue, we do our best to ensure our pets are healthy, socialized and ready to find their forever home.

 Reasons to adopt from BBKR

  • Health: Rescuer cats and kittens are given a clean bill of health by a certified veterinarian.
  • Behavior: Our adoption volunteers can match the right kitten to the right home based off an in depth conversation with the potential adopter.
  • Space: Adopting from our rescue creates space for another kitten to be saved.
  • Socialization: Our rescue kittens are exposed to new people, animals, and situations and are prepared socially to join a new household with little to no aversions.

Our adoption fees include all the necessary medical care and recommended vaccines prior to adoption. Any additional care or expenses for an individual kitten will never increase their adoption fee.
